Hailed by The New York Times for “the sensuality of her cool, seductive voice,” Long Island native Jane Monheit’s sincere and romantic interpretations have made her a favorite in both the jazz and cabaret worlds. For her first appearance at 92nd Street Y on Saturday, November 3 she performs selections from American Songbook and jazz standards that are part of her repertoire. Monheit has been touring as a guest artist with Grammy™ Award-winning jazz-folk violinist Mark O’Connor for the last year; he returns the favor as her special guest tonight. Monheit is backed by her three-piece band, Rick Montalbano (drums); Michael Kanan (piano); and Neal Miner (bass).
