Music and Música at BEA presents the João MacDowell Trio
On Friday, December 2nd, 2011 at 8:00pm, BEA presents the final concert in the fall series of Music and Música featuring the João MacDowell Trio. Thanks to everyone for supporting. Happy holidays and please keep a lookout for the spring series!

About João MacDowell
João MacDowell, New York-based Brazilian composer and performer, was born in Brasilia, where his professional career started as leader and vocalist of the band Tonton Macoute. Following this period, MacDowell went on to work in Rio de Janeiro for 12 years, then in Philadelphia for 2 years, before moving to NYC. During this time, João composed soundtracks for contemporary dance, film, TV, theater and circus; produced a large number of records and released four solo albums of Brazilian music. He has recently been acclaimed for the success of his Brazilian Opera Tamanduá, a contemporary work that fuses Brazilian folk rhythms, experimentalism, and classical composition....
