Composer, arranger and trombonist, John Yao his John Yao Quintet perform original compositions from their upcoming release “In the Now” that weave together elements of traditional, post-bop, and free jazz. These musicians breath a life into the music that is at once synchronized and chaotic, together and apart, seductive and colorful. The quintet is comprised of Vitaly Golovnev (Trumpet), Yoichi Uzeki (Piano), Leon Boykins (Bass), Will Clark (Drums), and John Yao (Trombone).
