John Yao brings his Quintet back to Cornelia Street Cafe almost a year after releasing his debut recording "In the Now" for Innova Recordings. Demonstrating a broad textural palette and drawing from an array of stylistic influences, Yao's compositions are a unique blend of post-bop and experimental jazz. This performance will feature a premiere of several new compositions along with a few from the album.
