Liam Sutcliffe/Jason Jackson Quintet at Jazz In The Park at Riverside Gardens Park

Jason Jackson, trombonist for the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, professor at the Juilliard School, joins forces with Liam Sutcliffe, performances at Kennedy Center, Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, and Chris’ Jazz Cafe, for a night of exciting jazz in Riverside Gardens Park. Jackson is an accomplished performer, composer, and educator based in New York City. He has been featured on many recordings and has his own album entitled, Inspiration, released in 2014. Sutcliffe, a recent graduate of Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts, is the winner of the 2020 US Army Blues Solo competition and is making his name in the east coast jazz scene. He can be heard performing regularly around the New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia area with various groups. This series takes place in Red Bank’s Riverside Gardens Park on Thursday evenings during the summer months. Weather permitting, our audience could top 500+ people. They bring chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, bottles of wine etc., for an engaging summer's eve of great music. It is a widely diverse group of all ages and cultures including families, individuals, students, and children who enjoy the free concerts in front of a picturesque setting facing the Navesink River. Jazz In The Park is curated and produced by the non-profit Jazz Arts Project in cooperation with the Red Bank Department of Parks and Recreation.


Celebrating 20 years of musical innovation and community impact, the nonprofit Jazz Arts Project is proud to announce a series of celebratory events and performances commemorating its landmark anniversary. Founded in 2006, the organization has supported jazz education and performance and is dedicated to nurturing musical talent and appreciating jazz’s rich cultural heritage.
