About
Called a “world class drummer” and “a true innovator” by Modern Drummer magazine, Marko Djordjevic has played on nearly 50 albums and has thousands of live performances to his credit. Hal Crook, Matt Garrison, Bill Frisell, Michael Henderson, Aaron Goldberg, Eric Lewis, Wayne Krantz, Lionel Loueke, Chris McDermott, Clarence Spady, Jacques Schwartz-Bart, Jonah Smith and Gary Willis are some of the artists he has performed and/or recorded with since graduating with honors from Berklee College of Music, where he was accepted on a scholarship at the age of 16. Guitarist Lionel Loueke, Blue Note recording artist and a long time member of Herbie Hancock’s group says: “Marko is one of the greatest drummers out there. He possesses incredible technique and a musical mind to match it. I love playing with him because he is so creative and unique!” 2013 will see the release of the new album entitled "Something Beautiful (1709 - 2110)". Recorded mostly in a trio setting, it features young piano phenom Bobby Avey (Dave Liebman, Phil Woods) and extraordinary Australian bassist Desmond White (Gilad Hekselman, Jacam Manricks) who comprise the core of the touring band as well. Also featured on the album are two tremendous tenor men, Eli Degibri (Al Foster, Herbie Hancock) and Tivon Pennicott (Kenny Burrell, Nellie McKay)....
