About
Mary Lou Williams was a pivotal figure in the development of jazz, forever influencing the music as a pianist, composer, arranger, and lifelong educator. Her Zodiac Suite, which premiered in 1944 at Town Hall, is an ambitious study of character and mood through explorations of the 12 astrological signs. Pianist Chris Pattishall will lead a quintet, featuring some of jazz's most talented up and coming artists, in this kaleidoscopic and swinging work.
