The most awarded program of its kind in the country, The New York Youth Symphony is marking its 50th anniversary in New York this season, giving gifted music students between 12 and 22 unparalleled opportunities to perform at venues like Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and to study with world-renowned artists, all tuition free.

For its final Jazz concert of the season, the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band will perform with saxophonist Phil Woods at the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday May 20th at 7:30pm.

To culminate the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the New York Youth Symphony, the Jazz band will be joined by alumni of the program including Tony Kadleck, trumpet, Benny Benack, trumpet, Ryan Keberle (former director), trombone, Michael Dease, trombone, and Luke Celenza, piano.

Christopher Zuar’s First Music commission Rustic Elegance will receive its world premiere.
