"Strictly For The Birds" is an evening of jazz and song inspired by our feathered friends. When I created this set it was strictly for fun, as well as an amusing way to pay homage to my vocal heroine, Carmen McRae, who put out an album in 1958, "Birds of a Feather." Now, with the recent news that North American birds are disappearing at an alarming rate, I have found a much more serious purpose for this set: singing to honor of the creatures who give us so much auditory and visual pleasure.
