Philadelphia-based pianist and bandleader Orrin Evans honors the jazz giant Thelonious Sphere Monk who was born on October 10, 1917. In addition to working alongside Bobby Watson, Ralph Peterson and the Mingus Big Band, Evans has also collaborated with hip-hop stars Common and Mos Def.
