Oneness Festival presents Terence Blanchard featuring The E-Collective

Six-time GRAMMY Award-winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard stands as one of the most influential jazz artists of his generation. Known for his genre-defying work that bridges jazz, film scoring, and classical music, Blanchard has composed over 40 film scores — many in collaboration with director Spike Lee — and made history as the first African-American composer to have an opera staged at The Metropolitan Opera in New York. With The E-Collective, he explores a bold fusion of jazz, funk, rock, and electronics, creating music that is as emotionally charged as it is socially conscious.

The first part of the festival program, titled "Slovaks in Concert", will spotlight rising Slovak talents who are making waves at home and abroad. It begins with multi-instrumentalist Mattia Muller, one of Slovakia’s most promising musical exports, performing with his group Laser Sights. His set will also feature special guest, acclaimed world saxophone soloist Immanuel Wilkins.

He will be followed by Julia Kozáková, a captivating Slovak world music singer whose voice and presence draw deeply from Roma and Eastern European folk traditions. Her performances are marked by authenticity and emotional intensity, seamlessly blending the traditional with the contemporary. She will be joined by a stellar trio of international musicians: pianist Vardan Ovsepian, bassist Peter Slavov, and drummer Martin Valihora.

Together, this evening of musical exploration reflects Oneness Festival's mission: to connect diverse realms of art and genre, while promoting Slovak musical talent to audiences in the U.S. and beyond.
