Vocalist, composer and pianist Pete Ayres prides himself as a musical chameleon in his songwriting, vocal technique and stage performance. His unique voice with an impeccable tone ranges from smooth and airy to raw and soulful, while his songwriting blends his jazz education with a love for R&B, soul and funk.

Ayres began his musical journey at an early age by learning to play classic folk, rock and pop songs on the piano by ear, and went on to study classical and jazz piano in his teenage years. Ayres was later accepted into the Webster University jazz program in Saint Louis, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in vocal performance in 2011. During his studies, Ayres composed and recorded his first EP under his namesake ensemble Pete Ayres Band. Soon after graduation, Ayres moved to New York City to advance his career as a vocalist and composer.

Ayres has performed on major stages throughout the East Coast and Midwest alongside pop artists like Gavin DeGraw and Mat Kearney. He has also performed with The Young New Yorkers’ Chorus for the popular NPR show “Radiolab” and at one of the most renowned venues in the world, Carnegie Hall.

In 2015, Ayres recorded and released his debut album “Till I See You,” featuring a large ensemble of drums, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, bass, guitar, keyboard, organ and background vocalists. Ayres recently released singles “I.O.U,” “Take Me Back” and “Troubling.” You can listen to these singles and Ayres’ earlier music on all streaming platforms.
