VESUVIO, with musical direction by Professor Mimi Jones, continues the ""Rising Stars"" series at Room 623 with an exciting look at the future of Jazz and beyond!

""Vesuvio"" is a dynamic sextet originating from the Berklee College of Music and may be, in fact, be the first of its kind to grace the stage at Room 623 the Harlem Speakeasy.

Directed by one of the club's own, bassist and professor Mimi Jones, she ignites an initiative to include younger talents within the monthly line up.

""Vesuvio"" was created 2 years ago as a class and was quickly recognized to have extreme potential. While it would be well received in the public eye, it would also grant the students a realistic experience in executing a professional performance, from booking, advertising, traveling and preparing the presentation. The group consists of an international line up stretching from the US, Japan, Europe & Caribbean Islands....

This talented sextet consists of Hana Uwai on piano, Willem Jochem on drums, Coy Simmons on alto sax, Ethan Klotz on tenor sax, Stefan Dresler on bass, and Angelo Della Valle on guitar.
