Roberto Poveda - Brooklyn Nights at ShapeShifter Lab

The Cuban troubadour, Roberto Poveda, returns with the album “Brooklyn Nights”, an eleven songs performance that shows his classic laid-back vocal style and his ability to write lyrics about life and love. This time, Poveda experiments with new melodies: bolero feeling, rock, jazz, creating a bluesy – bolero style infused by funky rhythmics and romantic lyrics.

In addition, the physical CD will include a twelfth track, Poveda’s version of “Hallelujah” of Leonard Cohen. The new album was recorded live at Acoustic Recordings studio, near Prospect Park in Brooklyn with Fima Ephron as musical producer and recorded and mixed by Michael Brorby....

The members of the band were Roberto Poveda (acoustic guitar & vocals), Fima Ephron (bass & arrangements), John Pondel (electric guitar) Jaime Affoumado (drums) Mauricio Herrera (congas, bata drums) and Vicente Sanchez (congas).

The album was produced by Point of View Productions and Son Eléctrico Music, with Cuban-American filmmaker, Emilio Oscar Alcalde as Executive Producer and is now available digitally at CDBaby & iTunes.
