BRIC JazzFest kicks off with the legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter and his trio performing their music as well as live accompaniment to The Brown Beatnik Tomes, a collection of prose and paintings from artist and poet Danny Simmons. Simmons’ will read his poetry and have special guests, including Abiodun Oyewole of The Last Poets, Liza Jessie Peterson, and Asha Bandele, join him on stage while large-scale projection of his paintings envelope the performance.
This performance will be recorded live. Presented in association with KMW Studio.
