Stratus Quartet: Live Film Score at Threes Brewing

Stratus Quartet is a string quartet dedicated to new music and improvisation whose latest project is a live film score to the space-adventure silent film The Impossible Voyage directed by the French experimental filmmaker Georges Méliès.

Released in 1904, The Impossible Voyage is one of the first films ever published. The film is also notable for its slapstick, its blending of photography and animation, and it's use of overlaid hand-painted color. The film centers around a group of French explorers who travel to the sun by spaceship.
