On Thursday, March 24, violinist Sarah Goldfeather performs works by Kate Soper, Julia Wolfe, and Alex Weiser. Goldfeather will also be joined by soprano Justine Aronson and others for the New York premiere of Chris Cerrone's LA-Philharmonic-commissioned The Pieces That Fall to Earth.

Sarah Goldfeather is a Minnesota-born, Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter and violinist. An avid contemporary music violinist and Bang On A Can alumnus, Sarah has worked closely with notable composers including Pulitzer Prize winner Julia Wolfe on her piece with a blue dress on for violin and electronics, which she recently performed in 2015 at TEDxMET at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Pulitzer Prize finalist Chris Cerrone on his Violin Sonata and High Windows for string orchestra, among others. Founded in 2007, the String Orchestra of Brooklyn has become an integral part of New York City’s vibrant and diverse musical landscape, bringing together creative instrumentalists, composers, and like-minded organizations and ensembles to collaborate on adventurous musical projects and present them to the public at an affordable price. String Theories is conceived as an opportunity to provide composers and improvisers with a platform to create works on a much larger scale than typically possible.
