For decades, Teruo Nakamura has produced more than 60 records performed by legendary musicians such as Stanley Turrentine, George Benson, Roy Haynes, Grover Washington, Helen Merrill, Bob Mintzer, Steve Grossman, Roy Ayers and Steve Gadd. Released in the late1970’s, the two fusion/electric Jazz albums “Rising Sun” and “Manhattan Special” (feat. Herbie Hancock) broke into the charts. In the 90’s to early 2000’s, while he was working tirelessly for AIDS awareness both in the US and Japan, those original electric Jazz tracks were revived by the sampling wizards like PM Dawn and The Roots. ...
