Jazz is chamber music, and May is Chamber Music America's National Chamber Music Month!
For the first of two shows in partnership with National Chamber Music Month, The Highliners return to the funky Harlem venue, The Shrine. Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere. Friday, May 1, 6-8pm. No Cover.
The Highliners is a new jazz quintet dedicated to exploring a wide range of material, from the American Song Book to deep-cut classic jazz, and innovative spins on classic rock.
Founded by vocalist Melissa Fogarty and saxophonist Debra Kreisberg, The Highliners' creative direction reflects its members’ individual roots in Latin, klezmer, funk, rock, opera and beyond, and cultivates an original perspective on vintage repertoire, while also dissolving traditional boundaries.
