The Highliners is a new jazz quintet dedicated to exploring a wide range of material, from the American Song Book to deep-cut classic jazz, and innovative spins on classic rock. The band’s creative direction reflects its members’ individual roots in Latin, klezmer, funk, rock, opera and beyond, cultivating an original perspective on vintage repertoire, while also dissolving traditional boundaries. With Melissa Fogarty, vocals; Debra Kreisberg, alto saxophone; Steve Newman, piano; Adam Kahan, bass; and Tommy Mattioli, drums.
