Tomoko Omura Roost Quintet 2nd appearance at The Cell Theatre with some of the newest set of music.

Roots Quintet is a modern jazz quintet that plays the music written by Tomoko, which is inspired by Japanese culture, person, folk tales, etc..


The "Roots" project started a few years back around in 2013. Tomoko released the album "Roots" in 2015 from Inner Circle Music, which contains ten jazz arrangements of Japanese folk songs and popular melodies.

She continues to develop the idea with new compositions based on Japanese folk tales.
