Harlem Stage and The Jazz Gallery join forces to present Uptown Nights: Joel Ross Being A Young Black Man. Ross is an extraordinary vibraphonist and composer who has created a work that responds to various experiences in his own life and focuses on identity, family, religion, and the daily struggles of growing up as a Black man in America. He’ll be joined onstage by saxophonists Patrick Bartley and Tivon Pennicott, pianist Jeremy Corren, bassist Junius Paul, and percussionist Marcus Gilmore. With beautiful music and stunning visuals, Being A Young Black Man is a gripping performance you’ll want to experience.
