Seattle-bred, New York-based brass quartet The Westerlies combine jazz, folk, and classical influences under the guidance of famed composer Wayne Horvitz. Their debut album, Wish The Children Would Come On Home: The Music of Wayne Horvitz, was released in 2014 to wide critical acclaim.

Briggan Krauss and Wayne Horvitz have been performing together since 1991 in various collaborations including Pigpen, 300, and Zony Mash. Composer, pianist, and keyboardist Wayne Horvitz is the leader of Sweeter Than the Day, Zony Mash, The 4 Plus 1 Ensemble, the Gravitas Quartet and co-founder of the New York Composer Orchestra. A prolific composer, he has been commissioned by the various institutions ranging from from the Seattle Chamber Players to Brooklyn Academy of Music, and has collaborated with Gus Van Sant and John Zorn, among others.
