Pete McCann, a native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, has been an influential figure in the New York City jazz scene for over 30 years. With a diverse skill set and a unique musical style, he has made his mark as a sought-after sideman in various musical settings, from duos to big bands. Having played guitar on over 100 CDs, Pete’s upcoming release, Without Question, marks his seventh as a leader and is set to debut in August 2023. His performances have taken him across the globe, having toured in 20 countries and nearly every state in the USA. McCann’s extensive collaborations include esteemed artists such as Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, and Maria Schneider. He is currently an active member of several groups, led by notable musicians like Kendra Shank and Joe Fiedler. In addition to his impressive music career, Pete has contributed to commercial projects for renowned organizations such as CNN, BBC, Sesame Street, and IBM. With a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas and a teaching background, McCann has shared his knowledge and expertise at prestigious institutions like New York University and The New School.
