Saxophonist, flutist, woodwind player, percussionist and vocalist, Joseph Jarman (1937-2019) was a founding member of the Art Ensemble of Chicago and a charter member of the AACM (Advancement of Creative Musicians). He was also a Shinshu Buddhist priest and founded the Brooklyn Buddhist Association and Jikishinkan Aikido Dojo. Connection Works has a special connection to Joseph. He performed with WORKS at this same series several times over the years. Also, WORKSโ Rob Garcia worked with Joseph in various ensembles including duo, trio, the Dojo Band and The Lifetime Visions Orchestra. WORKS with special guests Kavita Shah and Hilliard Greene will play many of Josephโs songs with lyrics that reflect his spiritual life as a Buddhist. ...
