About
Leo Sherman is a bassist and composer living in New York City. He was born in Leningrad in the Soviet Union in 1987 and moved to Baltimore at age 3. Throughout his childhood, he studied piano and drums. He fell in love with the bass at the end of high school.
He received a Bachelor of Music Degree from William Paterson University, where he studied with Steve LaSpina, Gene Bertoncini, and Mulgrew Miller. He also received a Master of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Jay Anderson, Jeremy McCoy, and Phil Markowitz.
Leo has toured and performed locally and internationally with jazz and pop artists, including the Villalobos Brothers, Junior Mack, Gene Bertoncini, and the James Weidman Trio with Francisco Mela. He has appeared on television and commercials, including an original jazz work recorded for Garrett Leight Sunglasses....
