about the artists:
LILY WHITE
Lily White started her career performing with the Jimmy McGriff quartet, and later toured with Mario Bauza’s Latin jazz orchestra. She was awarded a Jazz Composition Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. She released 3 CDs with her quintet: “Somewhere Between Truth and Fiction,” “No Pork Long Line,” and “Big Blue Line.” Lily was awarded a Meet the Composer Grant in 2003, writing music for children. Her current projects include the Swunky Z Brass Band, The Outlines Quartet and most recently, her dream band, made up of Rob Garcia on Drums, David Smith on Trumpet, Bennett Pastor on Piano and Jim Whitney on Bass....
