Veteran guitarist, Luke Hendon will be the featured artist Sunday, December 3rd, 8PM, at Cornelia Street Café for the Django at Cornelia Street Series. This month Mr. Hendon has put together an all-star cast to perform his original music- a modern take on gypsy jazz, melding influences of the past and present. His latest album, Silk & Steel is “beautifully performed and every note counts.” Says JazzScene magazine. Jazz Profiles Says it’s “an homage to Django’s influence accompanied by Luke’s statement of independent creativity.” And The New York City Jazz Record states that “Hendon’s take on the style is to inject some very modern energy along with judiciously placed non-jazz undertones.
