All of us at Jazz Standard are proud and pleased to welcome the wonderful singer and songwriter Michelle Coltrane in her first appearance on our stage: The only daughter of John and Alice Coltrane, her September 10 engagement falls between the birthdays of her mother (8/27) and father (9/23). Multitalented Michelle lived for a number of years in Japan where she found success as a DJ, vocal arranger, songwriter, and voiceover performer. I feel that songwriting is the strongest part of myself. I feel confident with it and have for a long time, Michelle Coltrane told Jazz Times. I love [creating] stories.
