New York City, NY - July 22, 2015, 7:30pm A public concert to honor the arts and culture of Taiwan, with performances by young musicians from Taiwan and around the globe, showcasing their own contemporary jazz interpretation of traditional Taiwanese songs. This event will be held at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, located at 1 East 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan, NYC.
For the first time in the City of New York, fifteen young jazz musicians from Taiwan, United States, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore, will gather to perform their own modern jazz version of traditional Taiwanese Han music live, with unique compositions and one-of-a-kind instruments such as the Erhu - a Chinese musical instrument with two strings held by a bow and played on the lap, to transform the history of each song into a modern day fairytale. ...
