About

Tulio Araujo is a Brazilian graduated percussionist, producer and sound engineer who created the idea of blending what he consider his main instrument, the Pandeiro, with the contemporary Jazz language. That’s what he calls “The Dobradura Project.” He studied at the renowned Bituca University, in Brazil, with the great master Ian Guest. With 2 released albums (“Manguera” in 2012 and “East” in 2014), he’s in NY for a couple of months touring in some of the best venues, showing the power of his idea and proving the Pandeiro is a real "pocket drum set".
