“Eclecticism that opens new horizons in the perceptions of music”
The New York based duo Noizepunk & BorisLove are combining elements form classical, jazz, electronic, house, hip-hop, experimental, etc. It is hard to put into one word the genre of music they are playing, hence they do not try to classify. The originality lies in the openness to musical sound in all its forms, in getting out of the box which constricts our understanding, and this duo does just that. On May 21st the duo will be joined by violinists Anna Borovik, Miltos Papastamou, Tasos Papastamou, vocalist Ninni Lindh and Sebastian Pritsker and various NYC friends to perform compositions by Gene Pritsker, Mark Kostabi, Saint-Saëns, Bach and various music from their albums 'Cello Lounge' Volumes I & II
“The Composers Concordance Records record label offers music that crosses genres. It brings music that is not limited to musical boundaries. "Cello Lounge", an album by Borislav 'BorisLove' Strulev and Gene 'Noizepunk' Pritsker, fits this description perfectly. On "Cello Lounge", classical cello lines are superimposed on a laid-back lounge beat. The added samples, jazz guitar licks and unearthly vocals spice it all up and make this an impressive mixture. My favorite track is 'Yolachka Bells' where composer Gene Pritsker
I really like this.”
- Peter Van Laarhoven, United-Mutations, July, 2011
"It is music of piece, a music unified in an unexpected and unprecedented way. It will not be for everyone. But those who are willing to leave preconceptions behind
will find a very stimulating program of music. Go on a different sort of trip with this one. You will find the ride both fun and musically rich."
- Grego Applegate Edwards, Gapplegate Classical - Modern Music Blog, Sept.. 2011
“ Borislove (cellist Borislav Strulev) and Noizepunk (composer/rapper/guitarist/DJ Gene Pritsker) perform Pritsker’s wild mix of tunes, described as combining classical, jazz, hip hop, electronica, house and experimental forms. Explore, or try 1, 2, 6, 10 12, 15, and 16.”
- WRUV Reviews by Laima
“This is a unique fusion CD, with classical, cultural cello themes, mixed with contemporary guitar, echoing vocals, and electronic creativity. You will feel like you are in Istanbul one moment and the East Village, NY, the next. Borislav Strulev is a renowned jazz and classical cellist with Russian roots, and he brings exotic flair to this ensemble. “

Staying in rotation for thirty two years in NYC is a rare feat. In the case of a new music presenting organization, it requires not only diligence and cognizance of achievements of the past, but also an ethic of keeping one's ear to the ground for emerging stylistic and technological developments, as well as talented new composers on the scene. Composers Concordance strives to present contemporary music in innovative ways, with an emphasis on thematic programming. It has also created a record label, Composers Concordance Records, with distribution by Naxos. Directors Gene Pritsker and Dan Cooper co-curate the programs, and lead the CompCord Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, and Big Band. Associate Directors are Milica Paranosic, Peter Jarvis, Svjetlana Bukvich, and Melissa Grey. Composers Concordance's overriding vision is to promote contemporary music, composers, and new works as a rightful and respected part of society. Good music, performed and recorded well, pushing the boundaries of sound and composition.
