MFM AMFA ACTION ALERT
Currently, MFM supports the AMERICAN MUSIC FAIRNESS ACT (AMFA). The AMFA would establish fair market value for radio performance royalties and exempt small independent stations. It would also ensure performers get paid when their work is played on the radio overseas.
QUOTES
“I offer my total support for Sohrab’s activities to make our business more just and fair. If we are unified more positive action can and will take place.” – David Liebman
“Unity in the music community” is the only way we as creative musicians can come together and address the issues that concern our common interests as performing artists. Please support our efforts...Viva la Musica Jazz.” - Joe Lovano
MFM is a very important organization. Musicians deserve better treatment from the people they work for. We are professionals and deserve the same treatment reserved for attorneys and medical personnel. By the time a young musician has their degrees and experience learning in the field, they have put in the kind of time and effort that a doctoral degree holder has. MFM has a simple message, respect yourself, demand better and you'll be treated as such. – Arturo O’Farrill
