About

In this class you will work through a variety of rhythmic principles inspired by today’s Jazz compositions and influenced by rhythmic concepts found in South Indian, North Indian and African music. We will work on accent points, groupings, mixed meter principles and polyrhythm. The main focus is to strengthen inner time by expanding your rhythmic language within a harmonic context. You will be presented with a comprehensive method and a variety of challenging compositions. You will write your own compositions using the rhythmic principles presented and special guests will be invited to join the workshop to share their journey through this beautiful and extensive language.
