Shoshana Bush at Birdland

Join young jazz vocalist/storyteller, Shoshana Bush, at Birdland on December 12th at 6:00pm when celebrates the release of her debut CD “Shoshana Bush and Friends – Live at Catalina Jazz Club,” She recorded the CD at L.A.’s foremost jazz listening room on January 3rd, 2013. Accompanying Bush On Dec. 12th at Birdland are Isamu McGregor (piano) and Brian Holtz (bass), Carmen Intorre (drums) and Nir Felder (guitar).

Bush, a New York resident and a graduate of Columbia University’s Jazz Studies program, has appeared several times at Birdland’s Jazz Party.

In her native Los Angeles she often performs at Catalina Jazz and Vitello’s. Citing her main influences as Nina Simone, Blossom Dearie and Ahmad Jamal, her eclectic musical interests include musical projects much further afield from Jazz: She has active writing and recording projects with L.A. based Hip Hop ensemble, Maya Angeles (formerly Welcome to the Ice Age), as well as electronic duo Blue Green Grey.
