Young jazz vocalist/storyteller Shoshana Bush will perform on Nov. 20th as part of the Blue Note
Emerging Artist Series, designed to give young up and coming musicians the opportunity to perform at the elite jazz venue as an opening act for jazz legends. Shoshana Bush performs one show on Nov. 20th from 6:30 - 7:30pm as an opening act for Jane Monheit, who’s in residence the week of Nov. 19th. Attending Bush’s performance will provide access to Jane Monheit's 8:00PM set at no additional cost.
Shoshana, who recently released a debut CD - Shoshana Bush and friends Live At Catalina Jazz - cites her main influences as Nina Simone, Blossom Dearie and Ahmad Jamal, yet her eclectic musical interests include not only jazz and an unabashed commitment to classic American Songbook, but musical projects much further afield. They include active writing and recording projects with L.A. based Hip Hop ensemble, Maya Angeles (formerly Welcome to the Ice Age), as well as electronic duo Blue Green Grey. Maya Angeles released a digital single in January 2013 (Mansionz)....
