Heralding from one of Britain’s top jazz families with brothers Tom and Phil Bancroft, the early part of Sophie Bancroft’s career saw her performing in Britain and Europe at major jazz festivals and clubs, and on regular broadcasts for BBC Radio 2 and Radio Scotland. She then moved south to take up post as Britain’s first Jazz Education Development Officer, during which time she honed her skills as a songwriter and a music educator. Following her return back to Scotland in 1993, Sophie has gone on to have a highly successful career as a singer-songwriter performing, broadcasting and recording her own compositions with a unique blend of jazz, folk and country influences....

Tom Lyne, originally from Edmonton Canada, moved to Europe after graduating from McGill University, Montreal with distinction on jazz bass. Tom is a passionate bassist with a focused range of sensitivity and power, and roots coming out of rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and an early initiation into jazz and improvised music. With a vast range of playing experiences including world famous soul band Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Californian guitar legend Charlie Hunter, traditional Shetland fiddler Catriona MacDonald and folk big band The Unusual Suspects, his musical heart lies mainly in the jazz idiom.
