The Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia is comprised of 18 stellar, homegrown musicians who aim to represent Philadelphia's unique and rich jazz sound and tradition. The orchestra is led by founding artistic director Terell Stafford, who was hailed by piano legend McCoy Tyner as "one of the great players of our time" and has performed on trumpet with ensembles like Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Benny Golson's Sextet, and the GRAMMYยฎ Award-winning Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
