Guitarist Tomas Janzon’s recent release “130th and Lenox” was rated One of the Best Albums of 2020 by Downbeat. Originally from Sweden and based in NYC since 2010, he has released five albums as a leader, featuring Billy Higgins, Albert “Tootie” Heath, William Henderson, Nedra Wheeler, Ben Dixon, Ken Filiano, Steve Nelson, and Chuck McPherson among others. “Nomadic” (2023) is his most recent release. This concert will feature a rare East Coast appearance from Los Angeles drumming great Donald Dean, who is well known for his work with Horace Tapscott and Les McCann.
