REVIEWS:
“Whispering Inhibitions” is a censorious testimonial–almost a confession of stolen innocence and search for redemption with bleeding drop for drop due to the imposition of original sin visited on the virtuous. An example of how all too often what is beautiful and righteous must accommodate and cloak what is ugly and evil. But what is beautiful is still worthy.” By John Cimasi, Producer/Writer

“But perhaps watching Victoria Visiko’s brave play, “Whispering Inhibitions”, was the best example of what Fringe Festival is supposed to do.” By Jack Garner, Democrat & Chronicle

“Sometimes new companies launching themselves in the community theater scene don’t have it easy – been there – but sometimes when a new company gets itself out there with its first major show, you see something more than just a debut. You see a beautiful work waiting to be discovered by more people than just yourself.
This is the feeling I had after seeing “Whispering Inhibitions” at MuCCC, the first play by the versatile writer-director Victoria Visiko – she premiered a one-act version of it last year at the Fringe, but she has expanded it for its full run. With most of the inspiration from Victoria’s own life, she tells the story of Lara Brelle, an actor-dancer trying to make it in New York City during the 1980s – only to discover more deeply emotional and traumatic perils along the way. She also finds a fellow theater artist, Rob Konti, who attempts to give her love and peace – but ends up doing more for her than those things alone. “Whispering Inhibitions” is a searing play – deeply raw, intense, and emotionally tough at times to sit through. And yet it is also profoundly cathartic – not just for the writer, but for those fortunate to see the show.
“Whispering Inhibitions” is one woman’s perilous journey of finding herself, of reaching the light through the darkness of living. It is a profound play worth discovering, it also speaks a lot about the social and cultural chaos we are living in now. For a first big play, Victoria Visiko has used her own canvas and creates a hard-fought story with powerful rewards. Don’t miss it.” Justin Reilly, Producer, Director, Playwright
A Special Personal Note Bonnie Garner-the Wife of the Late Jack Garner: “He loved and respected your work. So missed but never forgotten.”
