One of the best kept secrets in New York City has been Scott Metzger's Wolf! The exclamation point is a truly necessary part of the trio's name, their county-groove never fails to put a "!" into an audience's night. Metzger's lifelong love affair with the electric guitar has found its home in this trio with Jon Shaw on bass and Taylor Floreth on drums. Seeing Wolf! play is an evening searching for the place where the songs end and the far-flung, let's-boogie improvisation begins. Now, for the first time ever, Wolf! will be bringing that same just-messin'-around energy to the Blue Note in a very special acoustic performance. Metzger and his trio will no doubt find new ground to explore and invigorate their repertoire in the cozy confines of their acoustic instruments.
