CJC's Way Out West Concert Series provides composer-performers from the Bay Area and beyond with a Tuesday evening showcase for forward-looking original work in jazz and related genres. Join us weekly in Rendon Hall for Way Out West and Shoebox Orchestra! Loose, adventurous music from four of the Bay Area's most singular instrumentalists. Erik Jekabson, trumpet; Matt Renzi, woodwinds; Peter Barshay, bass; Hamir Atwal, drums. The Shoebox Orchestra plays original music and arrangements, focusing on a variety of moods and vibes, but that takes advantage of the chord-less format of just two horns, bass and drums.
