During his academic tenure\, he distinguished himself as Lead Alto Sax in UNF's prestigious Jazz Ensemble 1\, holding leadership roles for two years\, and was also involved with the UNF Clarinet Choir and Wind Symphony. His talent has been recognized with scholarships from the Bob Washington Scholarship Foundation and the Wayne Barlow Scholarship\, culminating in a top-three placement at the North American Saxophone Alliance’s Jazz Competition in March 2024. Duque has frequently shared the stage with a roster of world-class musicians\, including luminaries like Michael Mossman\, Joe Martin\, Jim McNeely\, Tim Hagans\, Jon Irabagon\, Dennis Mackrel\, and the dynamic Teddy Adams\, Ulysses Owens Jr.\, and Benny Benack III\, among others. Beyond his extensive collaborations\, he serves as the primary saxophonist for AR Production House\, notably touring with their "The Velvet Underground Show." Post-graduation\, Duque remains dedicated to enriching the local jazz landscape\, actively freelancing\, teaching\, and composing for his diverse groups\, including his innovative jazz fusion/rock project\, MR. DINOSAUR. He also curates a popular biweekly jazz jam session at The Volstead in downtown Jax.Biography: Tyler Snell Saxophonist and composer Tyler Snell is a dynamic presence in the Orlando/Jacksonville\, Florida music scene. Originally born in the UK\, Tyler was raised in Kissimmee\, Florida\, surrounded by great musicians. He attended an art school with his brother\, who inspired him to pursue music as his career. Tyler has achieved accomplishments such as being a semi-finalist in the NASA Jazz Competition\, a scholarship winner in the Central Florida Jazz Society competition\, and a recipient of the NEFJA "Jeep" McCoy Memorial Scholarship\, among many others. He has toured with bands across the country\, in cities such as Los Angeles\, Nashville\, New York\, and Miami\, and even abroad to Turkey\, Greece\, and Italy. Tyler is a recent graduate of the University of North Florida's jazz program and was the lead tenor saxophonist in its JE1.
