Cocoa Beach Jazz Fest

The jazz begins on Friday night, the 16th of January at the Doubletree Oceanfront Hotel in Cocoa Beach with a welcoming cocktail party beginning at 6:00 PM. Local jazz icon, Jack Simpson with his wife, Lorraine, will introduce a reunion of musicians from Jack and Lorraine's day of jazz festivals On the bill for Friday will be: Ray Terry and the Pirates, Ira Sullivan with Bubba Kolb; Jackie Jones with Heidi's Jazz Club trio. Saturday begins with a champagne at 10:00 am at the double tree with Turk Mauro and Ryan Larson. Sonny Larosa presents America's Youngest Jazz Band at 2:00 pm followed by award winning Satellite High School Jazz Band and Ira Sullivan. Austrian singer Simone Kopmajer starts out the evening with John DiMartino at 5:45 followed by Turk Mauro's Blueport band with a Tribute to Gerry Mulligan and closing out Saturday will be singer Allan Harris and his quintet with Jesse Jones. Sunday begins with a champagne brunch at 10:00 am. (musicians TBA). Sammy Figueroa's Latin Explosion perform at 2:00 pm. Linda Cole with son Anthony begin the evening at 5:45 pm followed by the legendary Mark Murphy and closing the festival weekend will be Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band.
