Saxophonist and flautist DAN JORDAN has been a successful educator and musician since 1976. He was a member of Maynard Ferguson’s band touring and recording as the tenor soloist. He played with greats such as Eddie Gomez, McCoy Tyner, Al Foster, Slide Hampton, Billy Eckstine, Mel Torme, and others. Dan was also artist in residence with Elvin Jones at the Atlantic Center for The Arts and played with Sam Rivers Big Band. He also toured the world playing with Natalie Cole, Michael Wolf and Badal Roy.
Trumpeter and composer SCOTT DICKINSON has shared the stage with Michael Feinstein, Larry Coryell, Alphonse Mouzon, Richie Cole, and many others. He has also been a finalist in several national and international performance competitions. Scott performs throughout Florida and beyond with ensembles such as the Scott Dickinson Trio, the Dr. Phillips Jazz Orchestra, and the Sam Rivers Rejuvenation Orchestra.
Bassist DOUG MATTHEWS has performed shows at corporate events and Walt Disney World including the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. Doug was bassist for Sam Rivers and continues to run the Rejuvenation Orchestra. He performed with Rivers at international jazz festivals, clubs and recorded 2 Grammy nominated CDs with the Rivbea New York All-Star Orchestra. Doug has worked with a wide range of artists from Petula Clark, Ira Sullivan and Lynne Arriale to Steven Bernstein and Karl Berger.
Drummer HOSNEY FRANCK studied under Chris Coleman, Jeff Beck, Chaka Kahn, Stanley Clark , Sheila E and Frank Zappa. He played in the Flying Horse Big Band at the University of Central Florida (UCF) where he played behind Ira Sullivan. He was a drum tech for Grammy nominated hip hop artist Big Sean where he has worked on the Ellen show, SNL, Jimmy Fallon, Good morning America, MTV movie and music awards, iHeart radio awards show and later became the drummer for hiphop artist “Rod Wave” touring and performing on NPR’s Tiny desk concert.
General Admission is paid at the door. $20 for members of the Jazz Society and Veterans Memorial Center, $25 for guests, students are free. Bring your own food and drink. Tables, chairs, live jazz and a beautiful view of the river are provided.
