Mats Eilertsen SkyDive at Kongsberg Jazz Festival

The fourth of seven shows being presented by All About Jazz, in collaboration with the Kongsberg Jazz Festival and Music Export Norway, under the banner Doing It Norway.

Bassist Mats Eilertsen has become increasingly ubiquitous, not just on the Norwegian scene, but on the world stage through his work on ECM recordings with artists including Jacob Young, Wolfert Brederode and The Source. SkyDive is the name of his most recent recording on Norway's Hubro label, released to great acclaim in 2011. The group features Thomas Dahl, a guitarist to watch, as well as others familiar to ECM fans - saxophonist Tore Brunborg (Masqualero, Manu Katché, Ketil Bjørnstad), and Finnish pianist Alexi Tuomarila and drummer Olavi Louhivouri, both members of Polish trumpeter Thomas Stanko's Dark Eyes quintet....
