Ottawa JazzWorks Presents: Kirk MacDonald Quintet "Generations" CD Release at Festival Japan Restaurant

Toronto-based saxophonist Kirk MacDonald will perform ballads and standards with his quintet from his recently launched CD, "Generations." The CD features three generations of jazz—from Kirk and his musical partners, Brian Dickinson, Neil Swainson and André White, to elder statesman, iconic New York pianist Harold Mabern, and Kirk's talented daughter, clarinetist Virginia MacDonald. "Generations" is Kirk's first album of standards in his vast repertoire of over 15 CDs as a leader and over 50 CDs in total.
