On a connu des quêtes moins risquées : extraire le groove d'un quatuor à cordes, ensemble cardinal de la musique de chambre depuis trois siècles, fallait oser. C'est le Graal pourchassé par les Enfants d'Icare, sans crainte de s'y brûler les ailes. Les musiciens s'y emploient avec une érudition forgée dans des parcours jazz, rock, classique ou folk, avec une armée de références.Un menu où figurent aussi des accents irlandais et balkaniques, le bluegrass nord-américain et l'influence du Turtle Island Quartet ou de Dominique Pifarély. Soit un arsenal de techniques folles : en plus d'être frottées en harmonie, les cordes y sont frappées (slapping avec l'archet) et pincées (pizzicato avec les doigts), manipulées comme jamais, au point de sonner comme le n'goni malien, le cymbalum tsigane ou une cocotte de guitare funk.
