Acoustic Standards is a trio that sails between the swing standards of the great orchestras of the 30s, the vocal jazz of Sinatra and Mel Tormé, and the beginning of the bebop era. Romain Vuillemin's electric guitar, sometimes in the swing style of Django Reinhardt, sometimes in the more bebop style of Wes Montgommery, is supported by a rhythm section that is both solid and airy, where Édouard Pennes on double bass and David Paycha share the responsibility of keeping the swing nervous and efficient. But the band has a secret weapon! The drummer David Paycha is also a brilliant pianist, which will give a second face to the trio, allowing to take the listener in an atmosphere closer to the one of the famous Nat King Cole's trio or even the great Fats Waller. The guitar will no longer be electric but acoustic this time to take the place left by the drums. Some standards sung by the guitarist will link the whole for a versatile tribute to jazz from 1930 to 1950....

Acoustic Standards, c’est un trio qui navigue entre les standards swing des grands orchestres des années 30, le jazz vocal des Sinatra et autres Mel Tormé, en allant jusqu’au début de l’ère be-bop.La guitare électrique de Romain Vuillemin, tantôt dans le style swing de Django Reinhardt tantôt dans celui plus be-bop de Wes Montgommery, est épaulée par une rythmique à la fois solide et aérienne où Édouard Pennes à la contrebasse et David Paycha se répartissent les responsabilités de garder un swing nerveux et efficace. Mais le groupe a une botte secrète ! Le batteur David Paycha est également un brillant pianiste, ce qui donnera un deuxième visage au trio, permettant d'emmener l'écoute dans une ambiance plus proche de celle du trio du célèbre Nat King Cole ou encore du grand Fats Waller. La guitare ne sera plus électrique mais acoustique cette fois-ci afin de prendre la place laissée par la batterie. Quelques standards chantés par le guitariste viendront lier le tout pour un versatile hommage au jazz de 1930 à 1950.
