Composée de Alex Monfort au Piano, Samuel F’hima à la Contrebasse et Tom Peyron à la Batterie, cette récente formation monte les marches du succès à toute vitesse. Très vite les trois musiciens se voient propulsés sur les podiums de tremplins prestigieux comme le Rezzo focal de Vienne, Jazz à St Germain des Près, Jazz à Vannes puis le Trophée SACEM ainsi que le Blue Note Festival dont ils remportent le premier prix à l’unanimité. C’est ensuite sur la scène du Sunset-Sunside que le public les découvre et leur réserve une ovation non démérité à l’occasion de la sortie du premier album. Dans son dernier Opus « Introspection » sorti en Mai 2018, le pianiste Alex Monfort rend hommage à ses héros Mulgrew Miller, Chick Corea, McCoy Tyner ou encore au saxophoniste John Coltrane et aux racines afro-américaines qui accompagnent cette musique. Couronné de critiques, de chroniques et d’articles, le dernier album d’Alex Monfort semble être une belle réussite.
